UZBEKISTAN IS IN THE 1st GROUP OF COUNTRIES WITH HIGH RESULTS

In recent years, in our country, the government has paid attention to the sports sector, like all other sectors. The basis of this can be seen through the results of our athletes in international arenas.

On the basis of the instructions of the head of our state, anti-doping educational seminars and roundtable discussions are held in remote areas. Based on the plan, doping tests are taken from the athletes and they are being explained under constant supervision.

In the annual report of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Uzbekistan was included in the 1st strong group among 206 countries in the world. WADA evaluates the activities of sports organizations of countries divided into 4 groups. These are Group 1 High, Group 2 Good, Group 3 Satisfactory and Group 4 Unsatisfactory. Among these groups, Uzbekistan took a place in group 1, that is, among the countries with high performance results. This group includes Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan from the CIS countries, while Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan are in the 2nd group, and Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Moldova are in the 3rd group.

At this point, the question arises on the basis of which reasons countries are divided into these groups. These are the high results achieved by Uzbek athletes in international arenas and international sports events organized in Uzbekistan.

Also, the activity of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Uzbekistan is to meet the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Code in a timely manner, that is, to improve the knowledge of athletes, doctors and coaches in the field of anti-doping, to take doping tests and their results (the few positive results are taken into account), and to have doping officers and investigative officers of the international category. the availability and, most importantly, the level of compliance are highly rated by WADA.

For information, we would like to mention that the National Anti-Doping Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the National Anti-Doping Agency that successfully passed the compliance control of the World Anti-Doping Code in the II quarter of 2023.

Sanctions are applied to countries deemed non-compliant by the World Anti-Doping Agency. Sanctions vary depending on the type of non-compliance with the requirements of the Code, in whole, in part or at all. For example, punishment is divided into types of non-participation in international competitions on behalf of the country, or such as not raising the country's flag in case of participation.
