An international scientific and practical conference on the topic "The Fight Against Doping: Achievements, Ethical, Legal, and Medical Aspects" addressed issues related to the legal regulation of the fight against doping, the development of national anti-doping rules, and the improvement of legal standards related to the field.
A decision has been adopted by our country's leadership regarding "Measures for the Effective Organization of the Activities of the National Anti-Doping Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the Framework of Administrative Reforms." In order to ensure the implementation of this decision, the National Anti-Doping Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted an international scientific and practical conference on the topic "The Fight Against Doping: Achievements, Ethical, Legal, and Medical Aspects." At the annual international scientific and practical conference held in the meeting hall of the National Olympic Committee, participants included Deputy Minister of Sports Sh. Mahmudov, Director of the National Anti-Doping Agency A. Sadikov, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee O. Kasimov, as well as the leadership and specialists from the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Sports Medicine, sports lawyers, medical professionals, and experts in the field of anti-doping.
At this conference, the President of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), W. Banka, delivered a video address. He emphasized that not only sports but also the anti-doping sector is receiving attention at the government level in Uzbekistan. As a result, Uzbekistan has secured a place among the developed countries in the first group. He also wished success to the conference proceedings. Additionally, at the opening ceremony of the international scientific and practical conference, Deputy Minister of Sports Sh. Mahmudov and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee O. Kasimov wished success to the conference proceedings.
Following that, the Director of the National Anti-Doping Agency, A. Sadikov, expressed gratitude to the public of our country and representatives of international organizations participating in the conference. He also delivered a presentation on "Doping Issues and Opportunities in Uzbekistan: The Current State of Anti-Doping Activities and Development Prospects," thus officially opening the conference proceedings. During the event, experts invited from Korea, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, and Kazakhstan held various discussions and presentations on achievements in the fight against doping, necessary actions to be taken, and other pressing issues related to doping. There were extensive thematic presentations on legal regulation of the fight against doping, the development of national anti-doping rules, improvement of legal standards related to the field, as well as issues concerning the therapeutic use exemptions for prohibited substances in sports.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants were introduced to the Olympic Village being built in our capital, as well as the Museum of Olympic and Paralympic Glory. It is important to note that the international scientific conference on anti-doping is being held for the first time in our country.
